Finance and Administration Officer

Reports to: Finance Manager.

Role: To carry out the recording keeping function for the organisation and ensure that what is happening is accurately reported.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Daily posting of cash book transactions
  • Monthly bank reconciliations preparations.
  • Preparation of invoices and capturing them on the system
  • Payroll preparation of the organisation
  • Capturing and coordinating all tax information of organisation with the Finance manager.
  • Proper recording of stock and ensuring that stock procedures are in place and being adhered to
  • Ensuring organisational accounts are balanced monthly, printed and signed off with the Finance manager.

Qualification
  • Education: Higher National Diploma in Accounting/CIS or equivalent.
  • Accounting software: Proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks and Pastel is an added advantage.
  • Accounting, Administrative & HR principles: A solid understanding of fundamental accounting & HR principles is critical
  • Computer skills: Strong computer literacy, especially experience with excel and data management

MEAL Officer

Position Overview

The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Officer will be responsible for implementing and managing robust MEAL systems across the F.R.E.S.H. program. This role focuses on ensuring effective tracking of program outcomes, facilitating adaptive management, and fostering continuous learning and accountability within the team and the communities served.

Key Responsibilities
1. Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Design and implement a comprehensive MEAL framework in alignment with program goals.
  • Collaborate with community-based facilitators to collect, analyze, and report on program data regularly.
  • Oversee the timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to stakeholders.
2. Evaluation:
  • Conduct baseline, midterm, and final evaluations to assess program impact and effectiveness.
  • Develop evaluation tools and methodologies to measure program outputs and outcomes.
  • Analyze and disseminate evaluation findings to inform program adjustments and improvements.
3. Accountability:
  • Establish community feedback mechanisms to ensure beneficiaries have a voice in program decisions.
  • Facilitate beneficiary engagement sessions to gather insights and improve program delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and donor accountability standards.
4. Learning:
  • Organize annual learning and reflection workshops with stakeholders to share experiences and lessons learned.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and adaptive management within the program team.
  • Document and disseminate success stories and best practices to stakeholders and the community.
5. Capacity Building:
  • Provide training and support to community-based facilitators in data collection, reporting, and participatory evaluation methods.
  • Strengthen the capacity of local partners in MEAL practices to enhance overall program effectiveness.
6. Data Management:
  • Maintain a systematic approach to data management, ensuring data is disaggregated by sex, age, and disability for inclusive impact measurement.
  • Utilize digital tools and software for data collection and analysis to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in a development context.
  • Strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in capacity building and training of field staff on MEAL practices.

Program Officer

Position Overview

The Program Officer will be responsible for the effective implementation and management of the F.R.E.S.H. program, aimed at improving food security, nutrition, income, and health among vulnerable households in Zimbabwe. This role involves coordinating activities, engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring alignment with program goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
1. Program Implementation:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the F.R.E.S.H. program.
  • Coordinate the implementation of nutrition-sensitive agriculture, Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA), and Care Group models.
  • Ensure that all activities are conducted in a culturally appropriate and sustainable manner.
2. Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with local community-based organizations, government departments, and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitate regular communication and collaboration among program participants, local leaders, and government officials.
  • Engage beneficiaries to ensure their active participation and input in program activities.
3. Capacity Building:
  • Organize and facilitate training sessions for community facilitators, lead farmers, VSLA members, and lead mothers.
  • Provide technical support and mentorship to facilitate effective implementation of program strategies in the field.
  • Support community members in forming and maintaining Farmer Field Learning Groups (FFLGs), VSLAs, and Care Groups.
4. Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Assist in the development and tracking of program indicators aligned with the MEAL framework.
  • Collect and compile data related to program activities and outcomes for ongoing monitoring and evaluation.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on program progress, challenges, and lessons learned to supervisors and stakeholders.
5. Advocacy and Policy Engagement:
  • Contribute to advocacy efforts aimed at promoting nutrition-sensitive and climate-resilient farming practices.
  • Facilitate dialogues with policymakers and stakeholders to influence policy changes that support program objectives.
  • Showcase successful program initiatives at local and national forums, including agriculture shows and community events.
6. Risk Management:
  • Identify potential risks and challenges in program implementation and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures to protect participants and stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Development Studies, Agriculture, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in program management or implementation in a development context, preferably in food security or health.
  • Strong understanding of community development and engagement strategies.

Position Overview

The Field Assistant will play a crucial role in the implementation of the F.R.E.S.H. program, supporting various activities focused on improving food security, nutrition, and health among vulnerable households. This role involves direct engagement with community members, facilitating training, and ensuring effective communication between stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
1. Community Engagement:
  • Conduct outreach activities to promote program awareness and encourage participation among community members.
  • Assist in identifying vulnerable households for program inclusion based on established Vulnerability Selection Criteria.
2. Support Program Implementation:
  • Aid in the organization and facilitation of training sessions for farmers, VSLA members, and Care Group participants.
  • Assist lead farmers and facilitators in the establishment and management of Farmer Field Learning Groups (FFLGs), Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), and Care Groups.
3. Data Collection and Reporting:
  • Collect and document data on program activities, outcomes, and participant feedback to inform ongoing monitoring and evaluation efforts.
  • Submit regular reports on field activities, community engagement, and challenges to the Program Officer or MEAL Officer.
4. Capacity Building:
  • Provide on-the-ground support to community-based facilitators, helping to implement training and mentorship programs.
  • Encourage peer-to-peer learning and knowledge sharing among community members.
5. Logistical Support:
  • Assist with the distribution of agricultural inputs, seed packs, and other resources to farmers.
  • Support the organization of community events, including agricultural shows and advocacy meetings.
6. Advocacy and Collaboration:
  • Facilitate communication between the community, local leaders, and program stakeholders to ensure alignment with program goals.
  • Represent the program at local meetings and events, advocating for nutrition-sensitive and climate-resilient practices.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or certificate in Agriculture, Development Studies, Project management, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in community engagement, development work, or related fields is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of agricultural practices, nutrition, and community dynamics in Zimbabwe.
